The town of Triacastela is the first town on the French Camino located in Galicia. This small town concentrates mainly on providing services to visiting pilgrims and includes a large number of hostels and restaurants, to the point where there are more pilgrims than residents. This town has been a resting place since the beginning of the pilgrimage. After the demanding passage of O Cebreiro.

At its exit, you have to decide where to continue the route; there are two ways, one via San Xil and the other via Samos, at the end of which the two roads merge into one main road.
