The small town of Santo Domingo de la Calzada was founded by Domingo de la Calzada for the Camino de Santiago, all its leisure and economic activity is related to the Camino route, so its development has grown over the years along with the French Camino. Today the town preserves an important historical heritage, in addition to countless legends and miracles, which today allows the town's cathedral to be the only one that allows access to animals (especially chickens).
