The town of Hornillos del Camino has a close connection with the Camino, hidden even in the name of the town. The structure of the village itself makes it clear that the Camino is one of its central arteries and the one that gives life to the village. This is a clear example of the Camino path that runs through a central street that crosses the entire urban nucleus and from which only a few small streets deviate. During the 9th century, the place was a defensive line of fortress towers that protected Castilla. Also, in the past the town was called "Forniellos" due to the ovens for baking tiles that were there.
