Frómista is a town in the autonomous community of Castilla y León. This area is known for Romanesque architecture, the famous building being the Church of San Martín de Frómista. This beautiful city was born as a settlement next to a Roman villa called Frumesta, a name derived from the word frumentum (grain in Latin), due to the abundance of wheat that existed in their fields.
